Flors Noé, a family business specialising in floriculture in Barcelona, Spain, relies on environmentally friendly technologies for the air conditioning of its 15,000 m² of greenhouses.

A HERZ BioFire with an output of 1,000 kW was supplied by HERZ partner Termosun, which heats the water in the tanks that serve as buffers via a heat exchanger. The use of the biomass boiler, which is fuelled by wood chips from regional forests, has reduced heat generation costs by around 50%. HERZ BioFire also allows the flexible use of wood chips or pellets as fuel without having to modify the system elements. Only the configuration parameters are technically adapted according to the fuel used.
